As of today, the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine sees no reason for imposing restrictions on grain exports, wheat export in particular, agrarian policy minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk told a briefing on Thursday.

"Restrictions on the grain export are not expected," Prysiazhniuk said.

On Wednesday, October 31, after the Cabinet’s meeting, first deputy agrarian policy minister Ivan Bisyuk said that the decision to ban the grain export was neither prepared, nor discussed.

"I am stating the fact the resolution was neither prepared, nor discussed. If we see a critical shortage of grain, we will take measures, but to date there is no critical state," Bisyuk said.

The Agrarian Policy Ministry expects the grain production in Ukraine this year to be nearly 46 million tones against 56.7 million tones in 2011.
