Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych expressed his condolences to the President of the United States Barack Obama on the devastating effects of Hurricane "Sandy", which caused damage to the states of the U.S. east coast, ForUm learned from the press service of the head of state.
"On behalf of the Ukrainian people and me, I ask you, Mr. President, to convey my sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the words of encouragement to the American people," the condolence message said.
He also noted that Ukraine, as a friend and a strategic partner of the United States, is ready to provide assistance to relieve the consequences of the disaster.
