In winter season of 2012-2013 Ukraine will face two epidemics of flu and ARVI - in December and February, chief of the child infection diseases department, Professor Serhiy Kramarev told a press conference in Kyiv.
According to him, Ukraine is ready to face the epidemic. Referring to the information of the Healthcare Ministry of Ukraine, Kramarev noted that all medical institutions are fully supplied with medicines.
"The risk groups are children under 5 and older people. We register 200-300 thousand flu cases among children annually, and up to five million children get sick with ARVI every year," Kramarev informed.
During the press conference, it was also said that this year the country would face two new strains of flu, which Ukrainians do not have immunity to yet.
