The General Prosecutor's Office initiated five criminal proceedings upon bribing voters during the election campaign and on the election day, the GPO press service informs.

In general, 94 appeals related to obstruction of the exercise of voting rights of citizens, including by bribing voters were considered by the General Prosecutor's Office .

"Of these 94 appeals, only five cases were confirmed following the inspection results. Five criminal cases were initiated – in Crimea, Chernivtsi region - one criminal case, three cases - in Luhansk region, two of which were later united into one," the press service informed.

In addition, as the press service noted, pre-trial investigation into three criminal cases (in Crimea and Luhansk region) were completed in a short time. "Criminal cases with indictments have been sent to court for trial," the General Prosecutor's Office added.

"Currently, the inspection of other 18 complaints and reports in this category is being carried out. According to their results, the decision will be taken. The rest of the complaints were not confirmed," the GPO press service informs.

The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office also informed that the Central Election Commission informed of 16 cases of vote buying, but following the inspections 12 cases were not confirmed, other 4 applications are checked.

The GPO stressed that prosecutor’s offices conducted inspections, despite the fact that some applications gave no information about the place and participants of the events.
