Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych thanked all voters who cast their ballots in the country's recent parliamentary elections pledging to solve all problems detected by electoral observers.

"I am pleased that most Ukrainian and international observers, including the OSCE have tentatively concluded that the elections passed smoothly from a technical standpoint. The voters had a wide choice of candidates. The observers spoke about the voting process positively," the press service of the President stated.

The Ukrainian authorities will work together with the international community to fix all problems pointed out by observers and make subsequent elections even more democratic, the President stressed.

He thanked all voters who demonstrated their proactive civic position and voted for Ukraine's future at this election.

"I congratulate the people of Ukraine on this important step in the development of our free, independent and democratic state," he noted.
