Ukraine reduced Russian gas import by 30.9%

For the first 9 months of 2012, Ukraine reduced the import of Russian gas in comparison to the same period in 2011 by 30.9% - to 24.58 billion cubic meters, according to a report posted on the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry website.

In this case, according to the Ministry, in September gas imports from Russia increased by 5.1% compared to the same period last year - to 3.11 billion cubic meters.

In mid-October of this year, the energy and coal industry Minister Yuri Boiko informed on reducing the consumption of the f Russian gas by 15% and save $ 1.8 billion by converting almost all TPPs to coal.
