The electoral process in Ukraine goes smoothly, chairman of the Central Election Commission Volodymyr Shapoval told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"The electoral process, its final stage goes smoothly, in fact, I think that the implementation of the election will be evaluated as good, maybe even better," Shapoval is sure.

He also noted that as of 10.30 a.m., not more than ten polling stations were not open in the country. Shapoval did not rule out that they started their work in the time of the briefing.

According to him, these elections are very large-scale ones. Between 20 and 25 million people both Ukrainians and citizens of other countries are involved in the election process.

He recalled that more than four thousand people are members of district election commissions. According to him, 56 percent are women. 685 thousand people work in the precinct election commissions.

"3.797 observers from foreign states and international organizations were registered. In addition to national media, 276 representatives of 84 publications from 32 countries are to attend the elections," the CEC chairman informed.
