Profiteers try to use the pre-election campaign to shake the currency market, however there are no fundamental grounds for its destabilization, deputy governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Vera Rychakovska says.
"This is the pre-election situation - typical behavior of the population and profiteers in particular on the eve of the elections. As soon as the elections are over, the work will go back to normal," she said.
Rychakovska also underlined that there would not be any new restrictions imposed by the National bank. "No new restrictions have been introduced by the National bank, and this issue has not been even under consideration," the official specified.
At the same time, Rychakovka noted that NBU had analyzed several pre-election periods, and the results had shown similar situation repeats itself before every election.
