Kyiv underground carriages modernization project will improve the energy efficiency, minister of ecology and natural resources of Ukraine Eduard Stavytsky told a press conference on implementation of the comprehensive Kyiv underground carriages modernization project, ForUm correspondent reports.
"The agreement is very powerful, and it will increase the GDP, as one billion UAH was allocated. As for the environmental issue, it will reduce the greenhouse gas emissions by 15.771 tons. In addition, it is a very energy-efficient project that will reduce the electricity demand by 35%," the minister noted.
He added that in total, the project is designed to modernize 185 carriages.
In addition, the minister said that Ukraine has also a lot of other projects worth 3.813 billion UAH with the Japanese side, which aim not only to modernize the subway. According to him, as of today, there are 544 projects that relate to repair the public facilities.
