The Foreign Ministry recommends the citizens of Ukraine to refrain from travelling to Libya till the situation in the country stabilizes, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reports.

"Due to the deterioration of the security situation in Libya, the Foreign Ministry recommends the Ukrainian citizens not to travel to Libya," the statement said.

According to media reports, in mid-October, the confrontation in Beni Walid (Libya) between the government troops and the supporters of deposed Muammar Gaddafi, who was killed on October 20 of 2011, began.

In this regard, the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon asked the Libyan authorities and the current insurgents to negotiate on the conflict settlement.
