In Kyiv, on October 25, 2012, a new Hippodrome underground station will be opened, the Cabinet’s press service informs.
Construction of the station began in autumn 2011. It is located on Kurenivsko-Chervonoarmiiska line between the stations "Exhibition Center" and "Teremky". The station is located at the depth of 12 m, the tunnels are laid in some places to a depth of 20 m.
Earlier it was reported that the cost of building the stations "Hippodrome" and "Teremky" in Kyiv will worth more than 1.7 billion UAH. The Kyivmetrobud construction company noted that the estimated cost of the commissioning of both facilities is 1.5 billion UAH - 660 million UAH for the construction of the Hippodrome station and 840 million UAH - for "Teremky".
On October 20, 2012, the first test train arrived in the Hippodrome underground station.
