
Head of the group of advisors of the National Bank Valeriy Lytvytsky predicts the maintenance of current stability of the hryvnia till the end of 2012.
"The apocalyptic predictions on the fate of hryvnia have recently sounded. Sometimes it is called as devaluation. Such forecasts are not a new thing for us, but we continue to do our job quietly. We make our own conclusions. The National Bank focuses on the fact that the balance of fundamental factors affecting the descending and ascending phase of the hryvnia formation is well-balanced, so it will continue to be stable," Lytvytsky said.
The financial expert added that a balance of payments, surplus of the financial account, low inflation and maintenance of the moderate, but positive economic growth work on the strengthening of hryvnia.
Lytvytsky also said that the NBU has sufficient foreign exchange reserves to cover the imports and service timely the external debts.
