Startup of express streetcar to Troyeshchina district in Kyiv is an interim solution until the completion of the subway line, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said after startup, ForUm correspondent reports.
"This year - in the beginning of the next year, we will complete the construction of the subway line to Teremky district and our metro builders will move to implement the construction of subway to Troyeshchina. If all goes well, the subway line will be opened there will be in four-five years," the PM said.
Azarov said that the Kyiv construction plans for 2013-2014 provide for finishing the Podolsky bridge and during this time the metro builders can carry out the necessary preparatory work in order to connect the Troyeshchina subway line to this bridge.
