Ukraine has gone up 15 positions in the World Bank report, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said during the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

"The World Bank and the Doing Business-2013 reports have been just published. In this global ranking of analytical conditions for small and medium business, Ukraine has gone up 15 positions. Thus, our state has demonstrated the greatest progress among the European countries," Azarov said.

In his opinion, it is the best answer to those, who say it is impossible to develop business in Ukraine and demand to cancel the Tax Code.

"This is an independent confirmation of the obvious fact that the policy, being conducted by the government, gives the result. In fact, the greatest leap of Ukraine is 66 positions up to the 50th place for "ease of setting up a business". The second highest score is 18 positions up precisely for the positive developments in the field of taxation," he said.

According to the PM, the World Bank ranking has put Ukraine in a number of the top three leading countries, committed the most visible and effective reforms in its economy.

"At the same time the World Bank report includes a number of positions with respect to the risks and disadvantages of business development in Ukraine. It is natural. There are always strong and weak points in the living process. The art of management lies in assessing trends in time, enhancing strengths and reducing risks. So we need to carefully analyze the findings and observations contained in this prestigious ranking, to find the necessary solutions to further strengthening Ukraine’s position," Azarov said.

The Prime Minister instructed the Economy and Trade Ministry, the Finance Ministry and the State Committee on Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship to conduct the relevant study and propose an action plan for the next year.
