Ukrainian importers approve the changes introduced by the new Customs Code, which came into force in the summer of 2012. The research "Changes in the Customs Service: view of the importer" conducted by the Institute of Innovative Entrepreneurship of the Kyiv National Economic University prove this.
According to the research, the most important changes include the introduction of electronic declaring of goods, reduction of time limit allowed for customs declaration, choice ofcustoms post and decrease in total number of inspections.
The research shows that the customs have more European approach now. After new rules entered into force, the waiting lines were significantly reduced.
According to the Finance Ministry, the government intends to continue liberalization of the rules of customs clearance. The Ministry will prepare a number of bylaws that help to simplify the customs clearance, as it was predicted during the adoption of the new Code.
