Tax reform is one of the achievements of the Ukrainian economy, deputy Prime Minister, social policy minister Serhiy Tihipko said during the International Forum "Ukraine: development project," ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the official, the reform consists a tax reduction and simplification of their administration.

"At the last meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted new amendments to the Tax Code, according to which a number of basic taxes were reduced to nine. This allows to reduce the total number of payments and the amount of reporting," the deputy Prime Minister noted.

He said that earlier the income tax amounted to 25%, in 2013 it will be 19% and in 2014 - 16%. "As for VAT, it will reduce to 17% in 2014. In addition, the tax rate on dividends was reduced from 15% to 10%. The customs procedures were simplified as well," Tihipko summed up.
