Today, the Central Election Commission has officially presented the new training information resource for members of election commissions, who will work during the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on October 28, 2012, ForUm correspondent reports.

In particular, as noted by deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission Andriy Mahera, the resource will facilitate the work of the election commissions members.

"There are hundreds of thousands of election commissions’ members. Very often they do not have legal training," he said, adding that the new resource is a significant help in their work, especially given the fact that the election law in our country is changing frequently just before elections.

In turn, the Kazakh diplomat, OSCE Project Co-ordinator and the head of the OSCE mission in Ukraine Madina Jarbussynova said: "The resource was created within the framework of a project aimed at supporting the CEC to raise awareness of people."

As for the project financing, according to the manager for the elections, the OSCE Project Coordinator Tigran Karapetyan, "the budget of the project amounts to more than 1 million EUR and is funded by a ratio of about 1 to 5. The main donors are the Canadian International Development Agency and the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.

As Karpetyan noted, this is not a budget project. Financing is made by donors, and the OSCE is the performer.

"At this stage we have the means to continue the funding of the project by July 2013. This resource is one of the steps towards the creation of a larger technological resource, which allows the CEC to manage the learning process,"
