Syria needs the humanitarian assistance from Ukraine in the form of medicines, food and material supplies, Syrian ambassador to Ukraine Mohammed Said Aqil said.
"Of course, we need the humanitarian aid ... Many people suffered and were left without houses. Therefore, we need food, some financial assistance and mainly medicines," he said.
The ambassador stressed that the Ukrainian authorities did not contact and consult on this issue with the Embassy of Syria.
As a reminder, on September 26, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to provide Syria with the humanitarian assistance through the mechanisms of the United Nations.
