As of October 22, Ukraine harvested 39.7 million tons of grain from 13.4 million hectares, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reports.
According to the Ministry, the average grain yield amounted to 29.6 c/ha against 34.2 c/ha during the same period in 2011.
In particular, the farmers collected 13.4 million tons of corn from 3.1 million hectares, the average crop yield amounted to 43 kg/ha.
157 thousand tons of rice were harvested from 24 thousand hectares (92% of the area). Its average yield amounted to 65.9 c/ha.
In addition, Ukraine collected 7.6 million tons of sunflower seeds from 4.7 million hectares, 1.9 million tons of soybeans from 1.2 million ha with an average yield of 16.2 c/ha and 11.4 million tons of sugar beets from 311 ha.
