The Security Service of Ukraine states that one of the motives of suspects in terrorist acts in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhia was disruption of the European Football Championship in Ukraine.
According to head of the Service investigation group Vitaly Mayiakov, in the process the interrogation of members of this terrorist group, they said that they were guided by disagreement with political systems in Ukraine and also wanted to stir up trouble and cause the population to protest against the government.
"They also insist on that the purpose of their actions was to disrupt the holding of Euro-2012 in Ukraine," he said.
Mayiakov noted that their words were recorded in the minutes of the interrogation and they will be announced at the trial, which, he said, will be open.
In addition, the head of the Security Service task force said that the suspects also wanted to prove the alleged inability of the law enforcement agencies to combat terrorist threats.
