As of today, pesticides worth 180 million UAH were taken out of Ukraine, deputy minister of ecology and natural resources of Ukraine Dmytro Mormyl said, ForUm correspondent reports.
"We continue the program on removal of obsolete pesticides and toxic chemicals from Ukraine. As of today, the pesticides worth 180 million UAH were taken out. The regions are being cleared gradually according to the schedule," he said.
The official said that there were two lots, one of them worth 50 million UAH was conducted before Euro-2012. "It was carried out successfully, and the pesticides were taken out of four regions. The second stage is being conducted now. We think that by the end of the year, the removal of pesticides will be done," Mormyl assured.
