The Central Election Commission (CEC), jointly with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), have launched an educational Web site for members of election commissions that will work at the elections to the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, on October 28, 2012.
According to the press service of the CEC, the Web site was launched on October 17 and is available on the link: www.vyborkom.org. Members of elections commissions will find information about election procedures on the resource, as well as documents containing legal recommendations regarding the application of the legislation on parliamentary elections, the forms of documents of election commissions, samples of filled in documents, the legislation of Ukraine on elections, and instructions of the CEC. The Web site also contains multimedia materials – flow blocks, animation and videos illustrating the procedures.

"We believe that the educational Web site will be useful to members of election commissions to improve their readiness for the elections in Ukraine. We also hope that the joint work with the CEC will be the first step towards the introduction of modern information technology for training of election commission members in Ukraine," OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine, Ambassador Madina Jarbussynova said.

Member of the CEC Oleksandr Chupakhin noted that the project formed the grounds for the system of forming basic knowledge of organizers of the election process.

"I hope that this intensive and rather strong information resource will give members of election commissions a chance to prepare for the elections better, and this, in turn, will contribute to their conduct on a professional level and in accordance with the current legislation," he said.
