Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov named Russian gas price "killing" for the national economy of Ukraine.

He added that he stands for good relations with Russia. However, unreasonably high gas prices are forcing Ukraine to step up efforts to ensure its energy independence, increase production of its own oil and gas. Azarov said that Ukraine overpay $ 5 billion annually.
Head of the government stressed that Ukraine has large reserves of hydrocarbons. He reminded that our country is going to fully provide itself with own gas and oil production in the next ten years.
