Media pre-election monitoring center established in Ukraine

The media in election 2012 organizational monitoring center was established by the order of chairman of the State Committee of Ukraine for Radio and Television Broadcasting Oleksandr Kurdinovich to promote the principle of equal access of electoral process participants to the media during the parliamentary elections and precise impartial and objective media coverage of the electoral process, the Committee press service informs.

Vice chairman of the State Committee of Ukraine for Radio and Television Broadcasting Dmytro Kravchenko was appointed as head of the monitoring center.

The media in election 2012 center will monitor state TV and radio coverages of the election campaign and the principle of equal access to the media, as well as other media and Internet resources on violations of conducting legal campaign through the media.

In addition, organizational and monitoring center of the State Committee will provide full support to official observers from foreign states and international organizations during the parliamentary elections of Ukraine on 28 October 2012.
