During 2013-2015, Ukraine will increase the annual gas production to more than 21 billion cubic meters, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, ForUm correspondent reports.
In addition, according to him, during the same period, Ukraine is planning to increase the oil and gas condensate production to 3 million tons.
Azarov noted that the gas will be produced by 17% more and oil and gas condensate by 8% compared with 2011.
"The use of methane from coal mines could be the effective alternative to traditional natural gas. The commercial development of coal mines can give a real gas production in volume of 3-5 billion cubic meters during the next three-five years. The work in this direction must be intensified since 2013," the Prime Minister stressed.
