Toxic wastes to be cleaned up in Kyiv for one year and a half

On October 19, 4.5 tons of chlorinated wastes will be taken out from the Radycal plant, deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration Anatoliy Holubchenko said, ForUm correspondent reports

"We need to take out 50 tons of chlorine-containing and 200 tons of mercury-containing wastes from the Radycal plant ..." And the city budget allocated 130 million UAH for it.

Holubchenko stressed that the information about a place where the wastes will be taken out is not a secret, but they will name a country willing to get the cargo only on October 19.

In addition, according to the deputy head of the KCSA, mercury wastes will be exported from Ukraine since 2013.

"A program on the waste removal from the Radycal plant is designed for four years, but we want to cope for a year and a half," the official summed up.
