First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Khoroshkovsky left for a working visit to Berlin, Germany.

As the press service of the First Deputy Prime Minister informs, the purpose of the visit is to discuss the important issues of bilateral cooperation and ways to intensify cooperation in the sphere of business, investment, energy, etc.

"Apart from mutual trade and economic interests, Germany is the key partner for our country in the field of European integration," Khoroshkovsky said.

The First Vice Prime Minister is to meet with the Vice-Chancellor Federal Minister of Economics and Technology, Dr Phillip Rosler, members of the "Deutsche Bank" and German companies who work or intend to launch investment projects in Ukraine.
 
The First Vice Prime Minister will also speak at the Körber Foundation and will take part in a discussion on "The political future of Ukraine - EU relations" with German politicians and leading experts.

Germany ranks second among the world countries on the volume of bilateral trade and the volume of foreign direct investment in Ukraine. Bilateral trade between Ukraine and Germany reaches 9.5 billion U.S. dollars. Direct investment in the economy of Ukraine makes up 7.4 billion U.S. dollars.
