Due to the parliamentary elections, the Ukrainian police will go on high alert from October 20, deputy interior minister Viktor Ratushnyak told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"From October 20, the police will work in robust security regime, and when the ballots are delivered to the territorial election commissions, the police will work around the clock," he said.

Ratushnyak also noted that as the police are depoliticized and do not participate in the electoral process, the law enforcement officers secure those safes and rooms where the documents and ballots are kept.

He also said that the documents transportation from the district to the territorial election commissions will be conducted two or three days before the Election Day.

The parliamentary elections in Ukraine are scheduled for October 28.
