65-70 thousand policemen will keep public peace on the election day, deputy interior minister Viktor Ratushnyak told a press briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"According to the Article 85 of the law on parliamentary election, the police is prohibited from staying in the rooms, where the voting is going on, so police patrols will be in separate rooms or in the premises. A police officer can be invited to respond to the offense or violation of the electoral law by a commission chairman, his deputy or secretary. In this case, the police officers may enter the territory of the room where the electoral process if going on," he said.

According to Ratushnyak, the place of residence of policemen will be taken into account while scheduling the duty, so they will have a chance to vote.
