Ukraine is interested in participating in the NATO operation to promote security in Afghanistan, the Defense Ministry press service informs.
The relevant statement the defense minister of Ukraine Dmytro Salamatin was voiced in Brussels at the meeting of defense ministers of the NATO member states and other countries participants of the Afghanistan military operation.
"Ukraine is consistent and will continue participating in operations in Afghanistan," Salamatin said.
He also expressed interest in Ukraine's participation in the mission in Afghanistan after the completion of NATO operation, scheduled for 2014.
