Kyiv will host the fourth Mykola Lysenko International Music Competition, culture minister Mykhailo Kulinyak told a briefing after the cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

"On November 15-24 Kyiv will host Mykola Lysenko International Music Competition. This is a huge event and we have accumulated funds for the contest. We planned 6 million hryvnia. It is actually a lot of money, but this is one event being held in Ukraine and we expect the Lysenko Competition in Ukraine to become similar to the Tchaikovsky Competition in Russia," he said.

According to him, 200 participants registered for the competition, including those from Belarus, Venezuela, Italy, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Poland, Russia and Japan.

"In order to prevent against "ambiguity in the jury ", we invited dignitaries, each of whom will follow the work of the jury. We invited observers for this competition to be in international rankings," he said.
