During the reforms in the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Ukraine, a number of employees will be reduced 1.5 times, head of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service, chief medical officer Anatoly Ponomarenko told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to him, earlier the SES included 800 stations with more than 50 thousand people. All of them did not have a status of state officials.

"From January 1, 2013, the staff of the territorial bodies of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service will amount to 29.900 people who will receive the status of state officials, and a number of stations will be reduced to 400," the official said.

He stressed that these workers can be retrained and find employment in medical facilities or other regulatory authorities.
