By 2023 Ukraine will fully provide itself with its own oil and gas, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said in Odessa, discussing with the representatives of local authorities, social and humanitarian institutions the implementation of the President’s economic program.
"In ten years we will depend on no one," Azarov said.
He stressed that Ukraine has large reserves of oil and gas.
Prime Minister emphasized that Ukraine has already spent a lot to start the production of hydrocarbons within its territory.
He recalled that this year the drilling in the Black Sea shelf will begin, and gas production will begin from the next year.
Azarov also said that works on the production of shale gas have already begun.
