Holding food fairs in the major cities of Ukraine provides price stability for food, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said at a hot line in "Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine" newspaper, the Cabinet’s press service informs.

The Prime Minister said that 70 thousand tons of food were sold for the first 9 months of this year in the capital's fairs: "70 thousand tons of food were sold in Kyiv. In average, 20 kg of food per each of 3.5 million residents - meat, vegetables, etc. These products were purchased at fairs, where prices are lower than in supermarkets and stores," Azarov said.

The Prime Minister said that the fairs are good tool to ensure products price stability. He added that the fairs encourage major retailers to reduce prices for such products.
