The negotiations on a free trade area between Ukraine and the European Union will be intensified after the election to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said at a hot line in "Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine" newspaper, the Cabinet’s press service informs.
Azarov said that Ukraine and the EU initialed the FTA agreement, but the ratification process was somewhat delayed.

"I think that after the election, we will intensify efforts and consensus will be found," the head of the government said.

He noted that Ukraine is interested in ratification, since the EU gives one third of trade turnover.
"We are currently negotiating on free trade area with six other countries. We have signed the appropriate agreements with many countries in the WTO, because for us it is essential that there are obstacles and barriers when promoting our products and services," the Prime Minister said.
