The unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan Republic accuses Ukraine of unilateral demarcation of the Transnistrian segment of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, the statement of the Supreme Council of Transnistria says.

"The Supreme Council of Transnistria expresses extreme concern over the intensification since September 2012 a one-way process of Ukraine’s demarcation of  the "central area" of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border, which is the de facto Transnistrian state border with Ukraine," the statement says.

It is noted that numerous statements from NGOs and individuals from Kamensky district of Transnistria, expressing concern about the Ukraine’s demarcation of Transnistrian section of the border by installing one-way border signs, are being submitted to the Council.

MPs of the Transnistrian Supreme Council appealed to the President to initiate negotiations with Ukraine on developing a mechanism for equitable participation of Transnistria in the demarcation process and the subsequent legal consolidation of the results of the demarcation of a bilateral agreement.

According to the statement, if there is no understanding between the parties, the Supreme Council of Transnistria intends considered as unauthorized and inappropriate continued unilateral demarcation and insists on suspension of demarcation until the final settlement of the Moldovan-Transnistria relations.
