The MPs from the NU-NS faction submitted the bill on lustration to the Parliament.
The bill provides for five-year prohibiting to hold leadership positions in the legislative, executive, judiciary and law-enforcement agencies for individuals, cooperating with the operating staff of the former KGB until 1991 as an agent or anther secret freelance employee, or collaborating with the secret services of other countries as an undercover informant or assistant to obtain information.
Deputies of city, regional councils, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers, judges, prosecutors, editors (deputy editor, executive secretary) of the media of state or municipal ownership, principals of higher education institutions of state or municipal ownership are named among the subjects of lustration.
