In the coming months the National Bank of Ukraine will consider the appropriateness of the 1-2-copeck coins turnover, chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Board Ihor Prasolov said.
According to Prasolov, coins can disappear from the turnover in less than a year. The primary reason is that their production is rather expensive.
"In addition, there is stability of the hryvnia and I think that in the coming months NBU will solve this problem (using 1-2- copeck coins.) The National Bank is currently considering this issue - whether to exclude this money. What it will decide, I do not know "- said Prasolov.
