Ukraine will promote the development and production of new armament system, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych told media during his visit to the 240th training center for units of the 8th Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ForUm learned from the President’s press office.

Yanukovych noted the demand, which Ukrainian military equipment enjoys in the entire world, especially aircraft. "Certainly, we are working on new models of aircraft. An example of this is the AN-70, which is likely to be very competitive on the world market of military transport equipment," he said.
The President said that today the Ukrainian specialists develop modern designs of naval equipment, ranging from small maneuverable boats.
"Ukraine has a lot of experience in the construction of missile systems and continues working in this field," the President said.
The President drew attention to the active implementation of the state target defense program on corvette shipbuilding. "From year to year, funding is expected to be increased. For example, more than 300 million UAH are to be allocated this year and the next year the budget provides for 400 million," Yanukovych said.
