Ukraine and Russia are to settle issue of vehicle recycling tax in mutual trade before November 1, economic development and trade minister Peter Poroshenko said on air of Ukrainian TV channel.

The minister said that the issue was discussed at the meeting of heads of government at the summit in Crimea on September 28. "The question of non-collection of the recycling tax was raised. A draft intergovernmental agreement was proposed," he said.

Poroshenko said that the proposed document should undergo a series of procedures. In particular, it must be approved by Ukrainian government and ratified in Russia. "We agreed that this should be done by November 1," the minister said.

"The actions of our Russian partners have been hard enough, and I hope that we can break down the negative trend in machine engineering (21% of motor vehicle industry fell as of today), opening our priority markets," Poroshenko said.
