The European Commission asks Kyiv clarify its intentions regarding the introducing of vehicle recycling tax on car imports, the European Commission representative John Clancy said in Brussels said.
"We are asking the Ukrainian party to give the subsequent clarifications on this issue," he said.
Clancy did not give other details and did not comment on the situation.
As reported, starting from November 1, the Ukrainian government is planning to introduce vehicle recycling tax on car imports, regardless of their country of production. A draft resolution is being prepared for consideration by the Cabinet. This document amends decree № 843 of September 3, which introduced the collection of recycling tax only on cars imported to Ukraine from Russia.
