European integration remains a priority for the government, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said at the meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine Christoph Weil, the Cabinet’s press service informs.

Azarov noted that after the election, the government will intensify work on signing of the strategic document between Ukraine and the European Union - the Association Agreement, including free trade area.

"We hope that the European Union member states, their diplomatic missions in Ukraine will provide the necessary assistance in the signing of this global instrument," the Prime Minister said.
Azarov emphasized the successful bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Germany, noting that German business is widely represented in Ukraine. "A number of German companies operating in Ukraine, doing it quite successfully," he said.

The Prime Minister stressed that the government's current goal is to keep the country's economic stability, creating the proper conditions for business, social progress.
