Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov promised to increase pensions for invalids of the Great Patriotic War in 2013, he said at a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian public organization of veterans, ForUm correspondent reports.
"During 2013, the minimum pension should be increased for disabled veterans of the first group from 2519 UAH to 2700 UAH. The average monthly pension for disabled veterans of the first group for the same period is expected to grow from 3419 UAH to 3625 UAH," the Prime Minister noted.
According to him, starting from January 1, 2013, the disabled veterans of the second and third groups, as well as combatants turned 85 years old will receive benefits at the level of war invalids of the first group.
He also reminded that this year, the one-time assistance to disabled veterans and veterans has been doubled, and for the last two years, nearly 600 disabled war veterans of the first group received housing.
