The State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine stands for the adoption of a new law on hunting, chairman of the State Agency Viktor Syvets said during the official opening of the enclosure for keeping and breeding of wild animals in Zhytomyr region, ForUm correspondent reports.

"We hope that the new Parliament’s convocation will adopt a new law on hunting to eliminate poaching forever," he said.

According to Syvets, criminal and administrative responsibility for violations in this area is expected to be increased.

Syvets said that to date, a penalty is from one to ten minimum wages and it is expected to increase it ten-fold and toughen criminal liability.
