NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen praised results of bilateral meeting with Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovych, held on September 26 in New York.

According to the NATO press service, during the meeting Rasmussen thanked Ukraine for its contribution to the NATO-led operations in Afghanistan and Kosovo.

"The Secretary General clearly emphasized that NATO remains committed to its obligations to provide assistance for Ukraine's reform and development of further practical cooperation," the NATO press service informs.

At the same time, Rasmussen stressed the NATO leaders position, promulgated at the Chicago summit, which "urged Ukraine to solve the existing problems in the judicial system and to ensure full respect for the rule of law".

During the meeting with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen in New York, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said that Ukraine is generally satisfied with the dynamics of the development of a constructive partnership with NATO.
