The situation with Tymoshenko and Lutsenko will not influence the assessment of election by international observers, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Voloshyn told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

He reminded that on September 19-22, the PACE special commission to observe parliamentary elections stayed in Ukraine.

"I would like to draw attention to a very important point in a statement, presented by representatives of the Assembly. Expressing concern over the whole situation around Tymoshenko and Lutsenko, PACE representatives stressed that the issue cannot be used for admitting elections illegitimate prior to their holding," Voloshyn said.

The official stressed that the observers are allocated millions of dollars from the budgets of international organizations, so no one in the West is going to do premature assessment of the campaign.
