The low percentage of long-term visa issuance to Ukrainians is reasoned by the fact that people do not want to receive them, Consul General of Hungary in Ukraine Janos Kollar said during the round table "EU visa practice in 2012: is there a change?", ForUm correspondent reports.

In particular, he explained that the Zakarpattia region consulates issue a large number of long-term visas, as people of this region often travel to Hungary.

"People are going shopping, spending leisure time there," he explained.
According to Kollar, Kyiv applicants for visas differ.

"Kyiv applicants are students, businessmen. We issue fewer multiple-entry visas, many people say they want a one-time visa, as they go only to Hungary. Therefore, there is no reason to issue a multiple entry visa," the Consul General said.

He also explained why some consulates require a greater number of documents than others do. In Kollar’s view, much depends directly on the consul.

"Consuls of the European Union are different people. Some know the language, some - not. They, who do not know the language, think it is better to get many documents, as it facilitates the work of the consul," he said.
