The Ukrainian government should take measures to prevent the criminal market of illegal visa services, research director of the Institute for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation Oleksandr Sushko said during the round table "EU visa practice in 2012: is there a change?", ForUm correspondent reports.

In particular, he noted that "the opposition to the visa support on the basis of fake supporting documents will mitigate visa policy of the EU and the Schengen area states".

He also mentioned that the EU visa policy has been not influenced by the EU-Ukraine relations complication.

According to him, in Belarus, where political relations with the EU are frozen, the number of European Schengen visas issued per person is larger than in Ukraine today.

"However, the complications in international relations affect the conditions for further liberalization (of visa policy. - Ed.) and the signing of new agreements.

Bad political relations do not lead to a decrease in the issuance of visas, but if we talk about the prospect of a visa-free regime (signing the agreement with the EU. - Ed.), there will be a lot of problems," Sushko summed up.
