Committee for Television and Radio to promote equal access of election process participants to media

Chairman of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine Oleksandr Kurdinovich approved the Action Plan of the State Committee to promote equal access of the election process participants to the media during the parliamentary election in 2012, the press service of the Committee informs.

The Plan will provide for "hot line" to respond violations of the equal access to the media. All of the violations, details of which will be informed via "hot line", will be systematically addressed at the staff meeting of the State Committee to take urgent steps.

Appropriate monitoring will be implemented at the regional level as well to ensure absolute compliance with the order of election campaign using media.

In addition, the State Committee intends to establish an ongoing dialogue with NGOs to prompt consideration of problematic issues of the media and journalists during the election campaign.
Public broadcasters will ensure unconditional fulfillment of the law of Ukraine on parliamentary election and election coverage on the principles of equal access to the air by the all MP candidates.
