Russia has already paid for AN-70 project, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry has already sent about half the amount, chief designer of the Antonov State Enterprise Dmytro Kiva told a roundtable "Development of aircraft of Ukraine", ForUm correspondent reports.
Chief designer said that much was done to implement An-70 project.
"This plane is very modernized. As for the equipment, modern element base was installed. In fact, everything has been done to improve aircraft to the maximum," he said, adding that the AN-70 "is now unbeaten in its flight characteristics".
The static tests are to be completed before year end. Crews of the Ukrainian and Russian Defense Ministries, who will test and use the planes, are being trained at the Antonov plant.
